KID TIGER & KARATE KID HOME RULE GUIDELINES

The purpose of martial arts for children involves teaching them self defense, fitness and character development. These rules are for our parents to post and cover with their children as this is what is expected of a black belt at child ages.

  *   I will at all times be truthful.

  *   I shall be responsible to the upkeep and neatness of my room.
  *   I will practice daily cleanliness in the matter of hair, teeth and body.
  *   I shall abide by my parent’s decisions.
  *   I shall not interrupt conversations.
  *   I shall refrain from rowdy behavior in the home.
  *   I shall possess and active mind, body and spirit.
  *   I will diligently study my school work at home and at school.
  *   I will at all times show respect for my Sensei, school, teachers and peers.
  *   I shall always finish what I have already started.

A Special Note to Parents of Franz Karate Students:

Your child is learning a new form of “self-discipline”. The self means that our goal is
instill the ability to discipline their behavior without the need for reminders. These home
rules should be posted in area that your children can see them and they can be
reviewed periodically as a positive re-enforcement tool in the development of your
child.

During class children will be disciplined for not following the school rules as well as for
not following the above rules. These rules are “not” a substitute for parenting, but rather
an assisting tool to help your child develop proper social skills which will help them to
achieve success in their future years.

Although we strive to promote a positive re-enforcement in our curriculum, we do
realize that discipline is required and will be used to instill structure to our training
methods. If you child does not want to attend classes due to being disciplined, we
recommend that you bring them in and have a chat with the Sensei. Allowing your child
to miss classes because they do not feel like coming, or for other reasons will only
harm your child’s ability to gain self-discipline.

You will find that your Sensei is a professional instructor who has received international
accreditation from several great organizations. Master Franz is very easy going and
understanding of the needs of his students and takes pride in helping them to learn the
great benefits of the Martial Arts. At any time you have a question, please feel free to
ask Master Franz.

Please DO NOT use Karate classes a reward or punishment for your children. Taking a
child out of classes for disciplinary reasons will only hinder their ability to attain very
valuable life skills that may solve the problem(s) you are having. Feel free to discuss
goals for your child with your Sensei at any time or call us to schedule a Parent—Sensei
conference. We are glad you are here and look forward to teaching you the Martial
Arts.
