New Movie Coming Out

Recently I found a movie that I can hardly wait to see, but I need to express my opinions on it and hope you enjoy this. The movie is entitled "The Foot Fist Way" and is a comedic parody of a martial arts, or more precisely, Tae Kwan Do instructor. (Not the spelling on their website is with a Kwan and not the proper way of Kwon.) After you watch the trailer and listen to the items on their website it will become apparent that there is no real truth to this but in reality it does carry a message. I find this a great comedy approach to martial arts and feel that we must be able to make fun of what we do as well as take it seriously.

Now, it is important to keep in mind that this movie was made by Will Ferrell who makes all those really stupid, yet good movies such as "Talladega Nights" and "Blades of Glory". It has inappropriate language in it and is very much a defining essence of everything a true master should never be but none the less it is still really funny. This movie releases in May of 2008 and I am going to go see it just because I love martial arts. Takanami Sensei always said that if all you do is take everything seriously then you will never understand the true essence of Karate-Do. This movie will be a good break for me and perhaps I will get to understand the general public's view on what I do since it is a comical satire of martial arts...mostly Tae Kwon Do.
