-

-
Students are permitted to make light contact to
the head. Only adult advanced students are permitted light face

student.
-
Kumite is not a game. It is a serious part of
your study. Do not treat it as tag and gain true mastery of it all
times.
-
All students must have the appropriate gear for
the type of Kumite being taught in class in order to participate.
-
Any malicious attack or intent to cause harm to
an opponent will result in immediate removal of the student from the
dojo floor and severe disciplinary action including the possible
removal of the belt rank level that student has attained.
-
The rules and type of Kumite will be taught and
announced during class. If you do not understand please make sure to
raise your hand and ask the Sensei when acknowledged.
-
There will be no toleration of ego boasting,
showing off or attempting to embarrass an opponent at anytime. This
includes bragging about one's ability to Kumite before, during or
after a match.
-
All students are expected to do their very best
if they are paired with a black belt however one must maintain
control and proper levels of contact. Our policy is that we will
give you two warnings if you are hitting to hard and the third time
it is possible that we may harm you. Do not make us ever go past one
warning. That is a sincere recommendation.
-
Respect is mandatory in Kumite. All kumite
matches will begin and end with a proper, humble bow.
-
At no time should one equate winning a kumite
match with the ability to better than the person they fought.
Everyone has good days and bad days plus the higher rank students
are informed to work with the lower rank students. Just because you
may have bested a higher ranking student does not mean you are
better than them...it just means you are improving. Everyone,
regardless of rank, will get beaten by a lower ranking student at
least a few times in their lifetime...that is not important in the
study of Kumite. What is important is to master the principles and
your techniques.
